I felt a little puzzled, thinking: Why does mom ask me about that so early this morning? Then I remembered I had mentioned it to her the day before. So I answered, “No, not yet. I will go to buy some today.” She told me not to buy it and to go to her home to eat it at noon. After hanging up the phone, I felt strange about her behavior: Mom is always thrifty.
