Disclosing: Is the Lord Jesus the Son of God, or God Himself?

After the prayer meeting, I invited three church members to my house. They are Sister Wang, Sister Yu and Sister Zhao who teaches hymn-singing. All of them have been my spiritual colleagues in the Lord for many years. After we reached my house, I brewed some tea for them, and then we got to talking to each other. Sister Zhao said, “Hey, there is a question I still can’t understand. Usually the preachers always say that the Lord Jesus is the Son of God. And I also see from the Bible that while the Lord Jesus was preaching or speaking to people, He always called God in heaven by the name of Father. So, I believe that the Lord Jesus is God’s Son. However, I also see the Bible say that the Lord Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and that He once said to His disciples: ‘Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me….’ (John 14:11) ‘I and my Father are one’ (John 10:30). Then I am confused. Is the Lord Jesus God Himself or God’s Son?”

Before I believed in God, no matter what I was doing, I never wanted to fall behind. I was willing to accept any hardship as long as it meant I could rise above everyone else. After I accepted God, my attitude remained the same, because I firmly believed in the saying, “No pain, no gain,” and saw my attitude as proof of my motivation. When God revealed the truth to me, I finally realized I had been living under Satan’s yoke, living under its domain.

Not too long ago, the church made plans to send the sister I partnered with out to serve in a leadership position. Upon hearing the news, my heart sank. We both used to serve in leadership roles until we were reappointed as editors. Now my sister would be returning to a leadership position and serve God with unlimited growth potential, but I’d still be stuck at a desk, performing my duty in obscurity. What future would there be in that? On second thought, I was reminded of the old saying, “There are a million different paths to success.” As long as I fulfilled my duty properly, I could also be successful. I just needed to redouble my efforts at pursuing the truth. If I focused on editing sermons so they better communicated the truth, maybe one day the leaders would see that I understood the truth. Then they’d promote me and my future would be equally as bright. After this realization, the gray clouds began to retreat in favor of a renewed determination. I threw myself into my work, and I ate and drank God’s word when I was not busy, not daring to slacken for even a moment.

On the subject of welcoming the Lord, many people blindly focus much of their attention on guarding against false Christs, but overlook seeking God’s utterances. The Lord Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (Jhn 10:27). If we wish to welcome the return of the Lord, it is essential to recognize God’s voice. Then how should we discern His voice? The following God’s words will show us the right way of practice.

"since we are searching for the footprints of God, we must search for God’s will, for the words of God, for the utterances of God—for where there are the new words of God, there is the voice of God, and where there are the footsteps of God, there are the deeds of God. Where there is the expression of God, there is the appearance of God, and where there is the appearance of God, there exists the truth, the way, and the life. While seeking the footprints of God, you ignored the words that “God is the truth, the way, and the life.”

Afterward, I also read in the word of God where it says: “It is unacceptable for you not to know yourself. First heal your own sickness, and by means of eating and drinking My words more, contemplating My words, live life and do things according to My words; whether you are at home or in some other place, you should allow God to wield power within you. Cast off the flesh and naturalness. Always let God’s words have dominion within you. There is no need to worry that your life is not changing; you will slowly come to feel that your disposition has changed a great deal” (Utterances and Testimonies of Christ in the Beginning). The word of God pointed out to me the ways of practice, and I became aware that there was a lesson for me to study behind my daughter-in-law and me not being able to live in harmony, that I ought to enter into the relevant truth, that I couldn’t fix my gaze on my daughter-in-law all day long. “I must focus on disposing of my own arrogant and conceited satanic disposition. I cannot keep on asking my daughter-in-law to listen to me according to my traditional viewpoints and natural old disposition, and I cannot stand in my position as a mother-in-law to suppress my daughter-in-law. I must learn how to put aside my status as the elder, let the word of God wield power over my heart, use the truth to resolve my own issues and live out normal humanity.” After I understood God’s will I prayed to God telling Him that I resolved to betray myself and put the word of God into practice.

I am a typical housewife, a good wife and a loving mother, I take good care of my husband and children, I’m hardworking and thrifty in running my household, and I’ve never recklessly spent my money. But something unimaginable happened to me. My son married a fashionable girl who really loved to have fun and dress up and follow the trends of the world. She pursued and purchased whatever was popular in the world, she threw away money by the handful, and however much she made each month was however much she spent. When I got married, my family advised me that “All lay loads on the willing horse,” that after marriage, I must be in charge so that I’m not taken advantage of, so that my life will be fulfilled and happy. Answer: Back then, the Pharisees in Judea worked to interpret the knowledge and doctrines within the Bible to practice religious rituals, observe doctrines and keep man’s inheritance. They then discarded God’s commandments and put His way aside. And when the Lord Jesus came, they fervently resisted and condemned Him and crucified Him upon the cross. Thus they were cursed and punished by God. Today religious pastors and elders often expound and testify about the Bible to us. But they don’t focus on spreading and testifying to God’s word, nor expounding the Lord Jesus’ will, much less His requirements for mankind. They rarely testify to His divine substance and His loveliness, nor guide man to practice and experience the Lord’s words, nor fellowship about how to hold on to the Lord’s commandments and follow His will. They merely focus on expounding and exalting man’s words in the Bible, asking them to practice and follow man’s words as God’s and the truth. And they solve their problems by looking to man’s words in the Bible, rather than the words of God, rejecting and resisting God’s words in the Bible with man’s words in the Bible.

My name is An Qi. Before the age of six, I was living at my grandmother’s house. At the time, my grandmother was the person with whom I felt closest to. Each day when I went to the kindergarten, my grandmother decided which clothes I would wear and how I would comb my hair. I felt that my grandmother did these things the best. Gradually, I grew up and I started to disapprove of some of the things that my grandmother did. My grandmother also started to disapprove of me as well. Each time I went to her house, she would scold me. If she wasn’t nagging me on one thing, she would be nagging me about something else. I felt very upset.

In 2016, it became very popular to wear a necklace around one’s collarbone. I had also bought one of these necklaces. One day, after school, I went happily to my grandmother’s home. When I got there, she squinted at me and disapprovingly said, “Look at what kind of gadget you have around your neck. It’s like a dog collar. Do you feel comfortable with it so tight around your neck?” Originally, I was feeling quite happy but after hearing her say this, I was no longer happy at all. I disgruntledly replied, “You’re so old. What do you understand? This is called fashion. Even if I explained it, you would not understand!” For this reason, I was still moody in the evening.

Almighty God’s Work Has Caused Us to Walk the Same Path as Husband and Wife

In 1991, since we were enduring the hardships of family conflict, my husband and I believed in the Lord Jesus together. From then on, we no longer quarreled. We read the Bible and attended gatherings together very zealously. Not long afterward, my husband left the Three-Self Church and switched over to the Stream of Recovery. In regards to the matter of my husband switching denominations, I did not mind. I believed that as long as we believed in one God, it did not matter which denomination we belonged to.

In 1995, my husband started to persuade me by every possible means to enter the Stream of Recovery. If I did not go, he would not be happy. Afterward, he once again allowed the leaders and fellow workers to come and persuade me. However, I was unable to accept the doctrines that they were teaching and I remained a member of the Three-Self Church. Since our doctrines of faith were not the same, my husband and I no longer spoke the same language and we started to grow distant. When my husband brought fellow workers from the Stream of Recovery upstairs to host gatherings, I did not participate.
